Muggleborns gifting their pureblood friends crocs as a joke, and telling them it’s “the highest quality of shoes muggles can make”. Purebloods wearing crocs when they go out into the muggle world, smugly thinking that people are staring because they admire the style and fashion. Lily Evans doing this to James Potter. Harry and Hermione doing this to Ron.

Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All that blood was never once beautiful. It was just red.

Why I think the reunion wasn’t the right time for a Caryl kiss
So, as you probably know by now, one of the current arguments going against Daryl and Carol sharing deeper feelings than a platonic relationship is that they haven’t kissed once reunited. People say that if they were to be together, they would have not hesitated to step forward and lock lips since they were separated for a little while. And I sincerely disagree with that statement for multiple reasons. I think that, although it would have been totally sweet to see, it wasn’t the right moment for them to go there yet. Firstly, the hug in itself was already a huge deal for Daryl. I think it’s fair to say that it was the first time he ever initiated something that intimate with anyone in his life. He probably gave his first real hug to Carol and knowing how emotionally stunned he is, that’s something no one should ever diminish when watching the scene. He went out of his way to give affection to someone else and show his vulnerability in front of a whole group. Daryl Dixon, the well-known feral redneck, did that. Let that sink in for a moment.
He gave an awkward long hug that was totally true to him. He just crashed into her and let his emotions talk for themselves. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and in character for him. I believe a kiss would have been too much given how he was already stepping outside of his comfort zone with his first intimate hug. It’s all about those baby steps. NR said it himself. It has to go through each little awkward moment before going for the big thing. And I think he’s right about that. Daryl is not the type of guy who would hug, kiss, and say little romantic words to his partner in front of everybody. But he is definitely the one who will make an awkward move, realize he likes it and do it more often after feeling more comfortable about it. So, for this reunion, I totally think he did the most he could do at that moment to express how he was truly feeling about Carol’s comeback.
As for Carol, I think she was just not expecting such a warm welcome when she approached the group in the first place. I’m sure she was very pleased to hug Daryl for the first time but a kiss was probably not on her mind at that exact moment. She was more focused on how the group would react to her comeback and that’s totally understandable given the circumstances. The thing is that she was not only reuniting with Daryl, she was also reuniting with Rick and the whole group in that scene. A kiss would have been out of context in this situation because it was not a private scene between Daryl and Carol. Rick was there and he was stepping up to welcome her back, and the group was also moving forward to do the exact same thing. So, I think throwing away the romance card just because there was no kiss in that scene is a bit ridiculous. Knowing how Daryl and Carol are and given their history, I have no doubt that a first kiss would be saved for a more intimate moment where they both feel it’s the right moment to go there.
